Today, courtesy of a friendly Sourcemore store, I had the opportunity to test for you the successor of the popular line of "semi-armored" mods, GeekVape's biggest competitor: Vandy Vape GAUR-18.

We're going with the topic. Paczucha arrived in a standard time, as befits Asia, less than 3 weeks (my record is 7 days for standard purchases). The DPD carrier already in the country deserves a plus, and not the Polish Post Office as usual. Parcel straight to your own hands, not on a delivery note. Plus, well packed!

Let's move on to the merits of the issue, because it has been too long. The device itself in the set has everything you can expect and nothing else. Waste paper and USB-C cable. The mod itself, however ...
Immediately after unpacking, I liked its color. Or rather, the finish of the material it was made of. Unfortunately, I have a deviation from Vanda Vape products. I love all of them in black matte. I love the rough texture and the lack of any light reflection. In this case, the whole device is in my favorite color! In addition, it fits brilliantly to all evaporators of this company, but more on that later in the pictures.
The first impression in hand is very pleasant. The mod is well-balanced, light and elegant to hold.

Here you can see a nod to the protoplast, it lies in the hand just like the first GV Legend. Except that it is smaller and definitely lighter. Anyone who suits this shape, the fashion will feel at home.

The material from which it was made is unknown to me, but organoleptically, after licking and tapping the nail on my left foot, I find that it works. At least the Gaur body itself. Vandy Vape was a bit of a breeze and the slide-in flap was left plastic (The same material from which, for example, Pulse II is made, rather durable). As you know, the batteries are replaced quite often in the life of the device, and this causes frequent friction. And when there is friction, the physics is unmerciful and with time the fastening elements will probably wear off in contact with the metal body. Besides, if they used a metal flap, it could always be bent ... On the flap itself there is decorative faience plastic, in my case an imitation of wood. Imitation is an understatement. It looks a bit like a 3D picture with pokemon from the indulgence, this is how nibbling shimmers in the sun! Fortunately, there are four different colors to choose from, each monster will find its amateur. The round part is covered with a rough rubber cap. Nevertheless, the whole thing looks pretty cool. A bit elegant, a bit futuristic. Such a Jeep on rims from Passat.

The pin does not have any elevation, which will probably result in scratches on the upper part of the mod over time. The very base of the evaporator has millimeter projections that will allow us to safely place the evaporator with a diameter of 26 millimeters. In the photo below, Asgard Mini with a beauty ring. Buttons and screen. The buttons feel nice, quite shallow, but they are not soft. With sound, they resemble connectors in a computer mouse, but in a rubber cover. I have nothing to complain about.

The menu and functions of the device are standard both on the VV and among the rest of the devices. The only drawback is the lack of power curves (at least I didn't find it). Anyone who has had the latest devices from this manufacturer will know what and how. We have a classic power mode, TC with adjustment of all parameters, including TCR and resistance, you can turn off the adaptive resistance measurement in the settings. The option to set the button lock deserves a plus. You can choose full lock or only plus and minus. There is bypass and Volt.

The screen shows the necessary information, battery level, power / temperature, puff counter and puff time. Interestingly, for long-distance runners, a full device reset doesn't format the pound count. You can follow the number of puffs until you drop. The display is very bright and even in direct sunlight on the factory setting of 70% you can clearly see what is displayed on the screen.

Time for a summary. The Gaur-18 is a very nice piece of equipment that is eye-catching and eye-catching from the very beginning. A very convenient device for everyday use. Vandy Vape is not inferior to its rivals and produces devices at a high level and I like it. I like its weight (it fits well in swimsuits made of thin material), a firm grip thanks to the use of a matte finish. I also hope it can withstand a little more than the reflective lacquered L200 thanks to this. Personally, I resisted buying a device with enhanced parameters for some time (I mean the L200 in total, because what else?), Because my Aegix X has long passed away. Fortunately, this individual came to me and I am very pleased with it. It definitely makes a better impression than the mentioned competitor. As its greatest advantage, I will mention how it lies in the hand. I mean balance quality and organoleptic sensations. He wants to grope and squeeze. Feel in hand. The biggest disadvantage I will mention is the fake wood. The rest is OK.
In my humble opinion, 8.5 / 10.
