Detail
This is iStick Pico Plus.
It looks almost the same as the original iStick Pico, but has been updated everywhere.
By the way, the original story of Pico Plus is Pico Pro made by Eleaf on an OEM basis by the world-famous European VAPE store "Pipeline Store".
Pico Pro was compatible with atomizers up to 24mm, and the initial lot was equipped with the same board as Pico.
Later, a board model with the same type C port as the Pico Plus reviewed this time appeared and is still on sale.
Compare with iStick Pico
First of all, let's compare the two side by side about the difference from the original pico what you care about.
Left: iStick Pico Plus Right: iStick Pico
The width and height of the body are the same for both.
However, the upper and lower bezels of Pico Plus protrude about 3 mm.
If you look at the upper part of the main body, you can see the difference in shape at glance.
The thickness of the body itself is the same, but the bezel of Pico Plus has the 510 connector side wider, and the 510 connector itself has also moved to the end.
The interface has been changed from micro USB to type C and the puff button to have a strong presence.
You can see that the puff button protrudes considerably from the body.
In addition, the battery cap has also been changed to a design that makes it easy to put on and take off.
Insert one 18650 battery with the positive side down.
+,-Buttons and vent holes on the bottom of the main unit.
The design is almost the same as the original Pico.
Description of each mode
The operation of iStick Pico Plus is very easy.
VAPE mode is roughly divided into VW mode, TC mode, and Bypass mode!
iStick Pico Plus consists of almost the same menu as the original Pico's initial firmware.
VW mode
A mode in which you can control wattage from 1W to 75W.
The minimum control value is now in 0.5W increments instead of 0.1W increments.
There is no preheat function.
TC mode
Temperature control mode.
There are a total of 6 profiles, Ni, Ti, SS and TCR1 ~ 3.
The temperature control range is 100 ° C to 315 ° C / 200 ° F to 600 ° F, and it can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
The maximum wattage can be set freely from 1W to 75W.
Perhaps the resistance value is always read due to the evolution of the chip, the resistance value lock function that was in the original Pico has been omitted.
Tips
* What is TCR?
TCR means "temperature resistance coefficient".
By setting the TCR value (temperature resistance coefficient) according to the wire, it is possible to operate using a wire that is not in the profile and to manage the temperature with higher accuracy.
The TCR reference value for each wire will be described later.
Bypass mode
Bypass mode that directly outputs the battery voltage.
The output changes depending on the remaining battery level.
Method of operation
■ Basic operation
・ Power on / off
puff button 5 clicks
・ Mode switching
puff button 3 clicks
・ Button lock
+,- Press and hold buttons at the same time
・ Stealth mode
puff button,-Press and hold buttons at the same time
・ TC mode maximum W setting
4 clicks of puff button in TC mode
・ DRY-PROOF mode on / off
puff button, + button pressed and held at the same time
* What is DRY-PROOF mode?
A function that reads the change in coil resistance due to the remaining amount of liquid when energized and prevents the atomizer from burning empty.
Since it is a limited function whose operation is guaranteed only when using the company's "EC-A coil", it is usually OK to turn it off.
■ Operations that can be performed when the power is turned off
・ Display inversion
+,- Press and hold buttons at the same time
・ Battery voltage display
puff button,-Press and hold the button at the same time
・ TCR value setting
Puff button, + button pressed and held at the same time
Any TCR value can be stored in 3 banks from M1 to M3 On the TCR value setting screen.
Since there is no description of the TCR value in the manual, the TCR value described in the original Pico manual is posted for reference.
Nickel 600-700
Titanium 300-400
NiFe 300-400
SS (303, 304, 316, 317) 80-200
Fitting
A 23mm RTA and Taifun GTR that could not be mounted on the original Pico can also be installed.
Is it a little unbalanced in appearance?
After all, I feel that a small atomizer suits me better.
So this is Antiquity RDA.
Yeah, it feels good.
But if you want to put this on, you can use the original pico, right? I also think that this is good.
This is good and this is not good.
The first thing I liked was the puff button.
It has a much more presence than that of the original Pico and has a click feeling.
The next thing that surprised me was the speed of the rise.
The delay time after pressing the puff button has been reduced to the limit, and it is irresistible to climb up to the set wattage at once.
Regarding the grip, I'm still not used to how the upper and lower bezels pop out, and sometimes the edges of the bezel get caught in my hand and I feel it hurts.
You will get used to this as you use it.
What I was worried about the looks was that the center of the 510 connector was closer to the protruding side of the bezel, so when viewed from the side, even with a 22mm atomizer, it was out of the body.
Personally, I wanted it to be a tsuraichi with the body when I put 22mm on it.
No, then you can use the original pico.
General comment
A good match with the original Pico.
Pico series that does not stop outbursts.
I thought there would be nothing better than the original, but Pico Plus is a good match with the original Pico.
Below is a brief summary of the pros and cons of both at the moment.
Original pico
Good points
・Good looks
・ Abundant color variations ・ Abundant
genuine firmware
・ Arctic Fox can be used
Not good・ Atoma of 23mm or more cannot be put on
・Depending on the farm, the response is slow if it is the default.
Pico Plus
Good points
・ You can put an atom up to 25mm
・ USB is 2A fast charging compatible type C
・ The operation feeling
of the puff, button is improved・ Excellent puff response by default
Not good place
・ Even if you put a 22mm atom, it looks out of the body
・ It is unknown whether a firmware upgrade is possible
Doesn't Pico Plus look very attractive not only to VAPE beginners but also to heavy users who say "Pico is the best to go around"?
Although it looks almost the same as the familiar Pico, the feeling of use is completely different.
It can be used as a good feeling in the boxed state and rides a slightly large atom.
Pico may be so thrilling since the original Pico.
