The VOOPOO company has updated it's imperishable and today we will look at the Drag 3 - a full-weight two-canister under 18 650 and a "leather insert". The board is not bad, but with a minimum of settings. Type-c was delivered this time and there is still more interesting details.
Once upon a time, the first drag from VOOPOO appeared and sharply became almost a standard. The disadvantages were extremely fast and ugly converging anodizing, angular shapes, limited compatibility with atomizers, and a slightly high price. Then a new wipe appeared and the dredge's standard became questionable. Especially when the years went by, and VOOPOO essentially re-released new iterations of the same dredge over and over again.
Today we'll talk about VOOPOO Drag 3. The device, as for me, turned out to be simple, but modern. Something unusual here is a super-mode with ultra-fast response for use at high watts (80 and up). And according to the classics, it rises from 0.05 and thus is suitable even for amateurs/gourmets of all kinds of porno coils.
1. Advanced GENE.FAN 2.0 chip, 0.001s extreme ignition
2.Dual 18650 battery, Super / Smart / RBA / TC mode
3. Adjustable power 5-177 W
4. Fast charging Type-C 5V / 2A
5. Compatible with TPP, PnP and 510 platforms.
6. TPP series coils with new patented technology.
7. Multiple security measures
Complete with VOOPOO Drag 3 cable itself and manual. I mentioned the disadvantages of the first generation of the dredge and here the anodizing will not peel off due to its actual difference (at least in this version). The issue of edge sharpness has been partially resolved, but without brute force and complete loss of corporate angularity.
From the unusual, here is an insert made of some kind of leatherette with embossed inscriptions about the brand and model.
It looks really impressive. At first, I was very worried about the state of this to insert in the near future with the next gulfs with liquid or even drops. At the time of some of these photos and the shooting of a video review at the end - a couple of thousand puffs have already been made and a week of use has passed. We see that nothing tragic happened with the inserts.
I heard that there are already alternative firmware and TC can be added. I fully believe because VOOPOO is not a basement brand after all. In addition to the usual mode (R), we also have a smart mode S. This smart mode limits the power relative to the resistance so that the user does not make mistakes. In my photo there is a drip with two mediocre coils and 0.44 - the maximum that the board will allow is 35 watts.
In the third photo, I have a screen with a step over 80 watts and a change in color scheme to red tones and the appearance of an inscription about a super mode.
From the details, the control fire + minus is to reset the puff counter, and fire + plus is to block the power adjustment buttons.
Therefore, on the one hand, it turns out that there is a necessary minimum, which will suit both inexperienced users and average vapers and even those who want to soar at extreme watts. Each will have its own advantages and its own mode of operation. And if you hunt for even more details and settings, then you can get confused at your own risk with firmware updates.
The charge current is declared at 2A, but the typical one is more likely to be called real 1.5A. There is no support for type-s to type-s, which is a bit of a pity - this is a consequence of inexpensive parts on the connectors.
But nice interest in the course of the charge.
Final conclusions
This new Drag 3 from Voopoo is a beautiful box.It is well finished and made with excellent materials.
It also holds well in the hand thanks to its low weight and leather finishes.
Circuit delivers the watts well and manages the batteries in a good way. On their duration, I cannot say that you can cry for a miracle but still, they remain average.
Personally, I think that the delivery is not very truthful: by mounting your own atom with a setup that you know well, you will immediately notice that the watts we read on the display are underestimated.
In practice, a setup that I normally push to 38/40 watts, on this box, the septum to 33/35 w to have the same performance.
In any case, the power button is precise, perhaps a little too "rubbery" in the pressure, and the delivery is lightning-fast.
If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.
