The Tauren Max RDTA by THC is a 25 mm dual coil atomizer, it comes in a black velvet-like bag, with the logo and brand name printed.
Inside we find the classic cylindrical THC metal container, which once opened, unscrewing it, shows us the atomizer screwed to the lower cap of the container which also acts as a pedestal.
We also find a slide that allows you to go from 2 to 4.5 ml of capacity, the warranty coupon, the manual and numerous spare parts.
There are no coils, cotton, or an additional Drip Tip.
Specifications:
The atom in my possession is dark blue (Blue), and as regards the detailed technical specifications and the various colors available, I refer you to the following link: https://bit.ly/2ZLAHGO
Aesthetic and functional aspect:
Drip Tip red and black resin effect with the inevitable ThunderHead Creations writing, with medium-sized hole.
Aesthetically, the double airflow, the upper honeycomb one, which will allow the air to directly hit the coils on the adjustable external side by turning the upper Cap, and the lower one, the classic slit that will direct the air both under and on the internal side of the coil by rotating the ring nut, in order to create a sort of 3D airflow.
Dual airflow system adjustable separately, like what we find on other atomizers such as the Widomaker RTA .
The most interesting part of the Tauren Max RDTA is without a shadow of a doubt, the Deck.
Deck of fine workmanship, as per THC tradition, where the central turrets have a decidedly unusual shape and in side view they form a Y.
The turrets are arched and in addition to hosting the honeycomb airflow, they house on their tops, the holes for inserting the coils , which will therefore have the legs facing upwards, allowing easy positioning of the same, at the equal to the classic Velocity turrets.
On the Deck there are four triangular holes, which will house the cotton mustache and two round holes for the refill, which will then be occluded by two metal cylinders on the barrel base, which also allow the perfect insertion of the Top Cap.
An aesthetic peculiarity that distinguishes it is the metal part that houses the Tank, which regardless of the color of the atomizer, is always in SS.
To increase the capacity of the tank you need to use a longer Pin, mount the extension that houses the Pin and obviously change the slide.
It will then be a personal choice whether to use the Pin classics or those BF.
I opted to use the short Pin BF, in order to keep the atomizer very compact.
Final thoughts:
Impeccable construction, aesthetically pleasing and excellent, the separate double airflow solution.
I tried it with different builds, but the one I prefer is a 6.5 g of 24 g on a 3 mm tip, keeping the air almost completely open and partialising the upper one, using it between 65 and 75 w.
With this configuration, the production of steam is not copious, but the aromatic yield is excellent.
I tried it with build to use at 100 w, but also with the open air the turrets, as they are conceived, heat up a lot, the atomizer becomes worse with a large production of steam, but to my taste the yield aromatic fades too much.
