Today I have a long-awaited guest on my table - the first adjustable box mod of the Hellvape brand. The event is interesting - I could not miss it in any way. In addition, the burning topic - one-cans - I suggest not to linger at the beginning, but to get down to business right away.

We start with the appearance - here we will have to talk a little longer because the copy attracts attention literally at first sight. First impressions are very original, even stylish, comfortable and lightweight. The decor is decent - a minimum of elements, a strict exterior, chiseled rectangular outlines. LPK matte - this has both a plus and a minus. The first can be attributed to enviable tactile pleasantness, but the second is not the most tenacious retention - a slippery type. Immediately an unpleasant moment - either the mod came to me with a chip in a sealed box, or I (for a moment neat, whose devices have not been scratched for years) gave a blunder, throwing it into the bag once! In any case, there are questions to the LCP, and now you know about it.
However, I will not hide - outwardly boxing mod is very captivating, moreover, I think I'm not the only one. By the way, perhaps also because the device reminded me very much of my old reliable friend - Asmodus Colossal.
As for the dimensions, they are quite small, but definitely not the smallest in this class. The device does not look bulky, rather average, but at the same time, a kind of trustworthy carcass. Another thing is the weight - only 100g - is quite commendable. By the way, this is achieved by using aluminum to create the main body. By the way, the developers are especially proud of the fact that the latter is made of a single piece of metal. However, we will return to this point shortly. There is nothing to say about ergonomics - it is excellent - the oval profile and the recess under the control panel do their job.

However, I immediately want to ask the creators a rhetorical question - why did they have to make a technical hole in the all-metal case from above? That is, the entire top panel is removable, and although the gaps with the main body are minimal, there is a much higher chance of flooding the chipset. Wouldn't it have been better to make this hole from the bottom, well, there is a battery cover, but it was worth trying in any case. And I might have understood them if the chipset was not afraid of moisture, or the developers reported that they laid the top end at least with an oring, but no ...
We turn to the control panel and there is something to see. The design is simply pleasant - the concept of minimalism can be traced here as well. The activation button is elongated in a vertical plane - I would prefer a rounded version - it would probably be more convenient. But what exactly would be worth doing is to put the key higher - the finger asks directly there itself, and the emphasis on lifting the platform promises more convenience. However, the button itself is made without exaggeration gorgeous - pressing the "too" pleasant and soft, but quite elastic, the stroke is small, the click with its muffled sound and demands - "jerk me endlessly." The rest of the keys are more resilient and smaller - convenient to use. However, with such a fit, when you press them with your fingers, the screen may be obstructed. I will not say that this is critical, but it can definitely piss someone off.
The display is monochrome, the design is quietly pleasant. The brightness is small, moreover, unregulated. I probably won't minus for this, since the color gamut can be adjusted, including the use of contrasting options. The charging connector in the gallery - I have nothing against such an arrangement because I never use them. Fast and "believable" charging is definitely a plus.
The next notable plus in the multi-format of the batteries used, for a smaller standard size, an adapter is naturally stored in the box. Access to the battery compartment from the bottom, the construction of the cover "the most reliable and durable" available - a twist-out version. There is a key for convenience, the thread is small, you don't get it right away, but you can get used to it. Twist not so long - 2.5 turns. The batteries do not dangle inside, none of the options.
Well, and for starters, there is interesting news - our guest is controlled by a self-developed chipset from the Hellvape company. I will say right away that the use of such an option by a team with no experience in this matter (remember this is their first adjustable box mod), probably, was the biggest mistake of the manufacturer. Now I will explain - firstly, the functionality is frankly poor - apart from the variant, there is nothing. Well, it doesn't matter) By the way, from the buns on board - a puff counter, changing UI colors and locking the settings keys. By the way, when changing the battery, the mod offers to independently choose the format - the maximum power depends on this - the electronics cannot do this in automatic mode. I will not say that it is annoying.
The point here is different - there are some very unpleasant moments in the work of the board - let's start with lesser evils. The battery charge jumps (yes, many suffer from this), plus it is shown without a numerical value. And another plus to this - it seemed to me that the mod sucks the charge quickly, but here I could be wrong - I'll explain later why. The resistance is read with an error - for example, my standard 0.77-0.78Ω did not rise above 0.71 here - how critical it is for you to decide for yourself. By the way, in terms of power, the box mod seems to almost never lie at adequate values.
But what is really critical - voltage drops/drops. That is, you soar for a second/second / third and then, bam-s, the voltmeter shows zeros for a split second, of course, the steam disappears. And this can be repeated several times while holding the knop. Sometimes this may not happen at all and everything is steamed ok. Well, when I began to purposefully catch this moment and look for a pattern, then one day (after several such drawdowns to zero) the mod simply went out. This, by the way, can probably explain the rapid demise of the charge. Naturally, I "rushed" to look at the reviews, but no one said a word about it. Either the reviewers are still those reviewers, or they tested everything exclusively on a hookah quick draw (as a rule, drawdowns began somewhere in 4-5 seconds of cigarette vaping), or I was lucky enough to get a marriage. Alas, I haven’t decided on the answer to this question. And one more thing - the mod heats up, if you use a steam engine even on a cigarette, it is quite likely a feature of the lightweight aluminum case.
Impressions
Well, what can I say - it all started almost gorgeous - cool appearance, lightweight, excellent ergonomics, increased autonomy and much more. However, everything ended more than deplorable. Indeed, the mod is made with dignity - you don't want to let go of this one, while the second reaches for the wallet, so as never to return it to the window)
